Cyclone Vardah uproots hundreds of trees in Chennai
CHENNAI: Cyclone Vardah uprooted hundreds of trees across Chennai on Monday. The official estimate as of 7pm was 2,803 trees of which around 700 were cleared, but the numbers could be a lot more as the rain and wind were every severe.
Chennai's arterial roads remained blocked due to fallen trees, streetlamps, bus shelters and sign boards. More than 250 locations across the city was inundated with maximum complaints coming from the zone of Teynampet.
